And for both, it remains a rollercoaster.

The timing of trade body Make UK Modular’s report calling for more government backing and extolling the virtues of MMC was intriguing. It came just a few days after it emerged that one of its of founder members, Legal & General Modular, had posted more eye-watering, yet predictable, losses.

But should this helter skelter matter?
